Hickory Pointe is in close proximity to the Chuck Swan Wildlife Management Area, Lenoir Museum, Rice Grist Mill, Museum of Appalachia, and Oak Ridge's American Museum of Science and Energy. Just as close is the city of Knoxville, Gatlinburg, Sevierville, and Cherokee reservation. It is a easy drive to the state parks surrounding Hickory Pointe such as Big South Fork, Cove Lake, Cumberland Gap, Big Ridge State Park, and the Great Smoky Mountains.

Norris Lake
Norris Lake extends 72 miles up the Clinch River and 56 miles up the Powell River. It has over 800 miles of shoreline with a surface area of 34,200 acres. If you are looking for the perfect place for fishing and boating, Norris lake is the place. It produces excellent catches of rock fish, walleye, and bass, as well as the usual species found in other area lakes. The months of June through September are popular for night fishing. Small mouth bass, crappie, white bass and walleye can be found.
